What is a surfskate?

A surfskate is a skateboard built for “street surfing.” While it may look similar to a cruiser or longboard, the key difference lies in the front truck or surf system. By using a steeper angle or a rotating mechanism, a surfskate allows riders to turn sharply and generate speed by pumping from one turn to the next—just like on a surfboard.

Surfskate trucks and riding feel

Surfskates differ mainly in how responsive and flexible the front truck is. Some systems are stable and forgiving, making them ideal for beginners or relaxed cruising. Others are highly dynamic and allow for aggressive carving, snaps, and surf-training movements.
