The Black Tip made its name on construction. Its composite bottom layer shrugged off moisture and fatigue while holding its rebound season after season. For Carvers 30 Years of Innovation drop, they took that idea further and built the bottom veneer from carbon fiber, a first for Carver: stronger, lighter, and more resilient, with noticeably more energy in every pump. Thirty years of building boards, and this is the biggest performance leap yet. The new HPR17 mold matches the material. A mellow concave runs through the center, the front foot pocket is deeply spooned, and a lower tail angle keeps your back foot driving through the turn. Underneath it all, the exposed carbon weave recalls the shimmering skin of its namesake shark. Available with CX for snappier rail engagement or C7 for that smooth, drawn-out surf feeling, rolling on 70mm 78a Mags that hold speed over rough pavement
